To collect and interpret spatial information for service delivery in line with the survey code of practice.
· Carries out coal quality checks by calculating specific gravity as required,
· Calibrates survey equipment, drilling and loading tools to ensure high accuracy in survey and floor control.
· Controls Expenditure within approved parameters.
· Provides relevant data on relevant KPIs to ensure contractor performance.
· Recommends operational requirements and incorporates cost-saving initiatives into budget.
· Reconciles actual mining against plan, reviews the short-term plan for spatial compliance and recommendation of corrective action.
· Reconciles design slopes for compliance to strata recommendations
· Designs the panels layout plans and drill patterns in collaboration with Mining
· Reconciles material movements with Mining Information Systems
· Sets out mining limits and levels to guide coal cutting and loading
· Reconciles actual blasted reserves to design parameters
· Updates and maintains legal plans and records as per legal requirements
· Ensures that Remote Sensing and UAV operations conform to legal requirements
· Maintains compliance with legal and corporate governance principles
· Ensures that existing and future spatial data is ready for use on a shared platform.
· Validates adherence to accuracy standards for different classes of data
· Analyses, validates and interprets spatial data from different sources
· Monitors data capture and updating of existing spatial databases as per standards.
· Produces plan updates and volumetric calculations.
· Performs reconciliation, analyses and survey data to determine coal/waste flow.
· Validates and reconciles production with survey information for official reporting.
· Surveying stockpiles, waste dumps and mining face advances.
· Ensures network integrity by systematic check surveys on the reference points.
· Interpret data from different sources e.g. satellite remote imagery to detect surface subsidence.
· Produces relevant reports and analyses on deformation trends.
· Designs the network extent, geometry and physical structures.
· Implements and controls SHE Programme in the area of responsibility.
· Implements relevant survey activities to execute and report on compliance with environmental management plan.
· Initiates, monitors and controls short term sectional projects to attain sectional objectives.
· Consolidate ideas and initiatives as well as survey technical investigations and projects to enhance the performance of the section.
· Ensures that employees are selected, deployed, trained, evaluated, and rewarded in compliance with existing employee’s management systems.

· Degree in Geomatics/Mine Surveying or Equivalent.
· Valid Driver License Class B.
· 4 years post graduate experience in the Mining environment (Minerals Resources Management)
· Membership of Institute of Mine Surveyors of Southern Africa or Equivalent as an added advantage
