BOPEU invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Collective Bargaining Officer, tenable at the BOPEU Headquarters in Gaborone.
To provide technical support on labour relations matters, collective bargaining, negotiations, and research services aimed at promoting members’ interests and improving their quality of life.
• Conduct research and draft bargaining position papers and counter-proposals for presentation at collective bargaining structures.
• Plan and organize meetings for internal collective bargaining and negotiation structures.
• Represent BOPEU in collective bargaining meetings.
• Maintain a follow-up system for actions arising from bargaining meetings.
• Draft and prepare reports on labour negotiations and bargaining matters.
• Provide training for shop stewards on collective bargaining and negotiation processes.
• Support the promotion of healthy media relations.
• Recommend effective collective bargaining strategies.
• Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Perform any other duties as assigned to meet the operational needs of BOPEU.
• A recognized Degree in Human Resources, Labour Relations, Business, Accounting, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of post-graduate experience in a labour union or similar environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
