Job Summary

The Data Protection Officer is responsible for overseeing the data protection strategy in compliance with the Data Protection Act of Botswana and ensuring that the Fund adheres to legal standards and best practices for data privacy and security. The position plans, develops, implements and administers data protection and privacy programs in areas such as data security, compliance with the Data Protection Act and other relevant regulations, data breach response and risk management.

Experience

• A minimum of six (8) years post qualification experience in financial management with three (3) years at middle management level
• Computer literacy with knowledge of accounting software applications

Education

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, AAT or equivalent accounting qualification. Qualification in a professional accounting qualification such as CIMA, BICA, ACCA is added advantage.
• Advanced MS Excel and knowledge of Sage 300, data analytics will be an added advantage.
• A member of the Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants (BICA) or a recognized International Accounting body/Professional organization.
