Main Purpose of the Job

To achieve and exceed sales targets and objectives, through developing and implementing customer plans and servicing customers. Ensuring a positive Plascon experience in store.

Key Performance Areas

• Achieve and exceed sales targets by customer: Volume, Value, Margin, GP Rands, RPL, Service Level
• Ensure that you have general knowledge of your stock & products so that you can advise customers appropriately.
• Check that stockholdings is “true” before finalizing sales, as needed.
• Do not commit to deliveries – always confirm with dispatch. – “Never over promise, and under deliver”
• Always push for add-on sales to increase basket
• Present a positive image to customers, acknowledge, approach & greet customers as required, understand their special needs & respond to their queries as required
• Ensure colour display stands, and tinting areas are well maintained to enhance the Plascon brand image
• Identify and evaluate competitor strong stores and new business opportunities in line with company strategy, to gain share and grow sales
• Identify and report on market and competitor information and activity through weekly status reports and monthly sales reports (Insights)
• Timeous feedback to customers
• Always be in & around your allocated shelves to prevent theft and breakages
• Be aware of your stock situation (fast seller, slow lines, overstocks, out of stocks, low stock levels)
• Remove damaged or incomplete items on the floor, report them to the HOD & take them to the appropriate place for damages, where they can be recorded & correctly processed
• Merchandise stock according to the required operational standards & as per the standards in line with the store expectations

Competencies

• Strong interpersonal skills and relevant sales attitude
• Selling Skills
• Knowledge of the retail coatings industry
• Strong report writing and communication skills
• Paint knowledge and application skills

Qualifications

• At least minimum of BGCSE/O’Levels
• Sales and business skills certificates, drivers licence

Experience

• At least 1–2 year’s experience in merchandising
