The University is looking for a qualified and experienced individual for the position of Special Needs Officer in the Student Affairs Division on a Four (4) years fixed-term contract.
𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗝𝗼𝗯:
To facilitate and provide comprehensive support to students with special needs by coordinating academic accommodations, resources, and wellbeing services, while liaising with stakeholders and supervising support staff to promote an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
𝗝𝗼𝗯 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀:
𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀
• At least a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Rehabilitation, Social Work, Counselling and Psychology.
𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻:
• Special Needs Certification
• Project management and Monitoring and Evaluation essential skills
𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲:
• Minimum of three (3) years relevant post-qualification experience in a similar role.
• Experience working in a higher education institution will be an added advantage.
𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀:
• Best practices and principles in special needs support and counselling
• Relevant experience within an administrative role
• Experience using administrative systems
• Facilitation skills
• Testing, assessment, and interviewing skills

• Research, critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving
